Smeg has opened its first official showroom in Russia. Located in the centre of St. Petersburg on Ligovsky Prospekt (Avenue), the grand opening took place on 3rd April this year, with a ceremony that was attended by the vice-president of Smeg, Vittorio Bertazzoni, the Regional Development Director, Daniel Martinez, and the Managing Director of Smeg Russia, Roman Musakhanyan, as well as a number of customers, and friends and partners of Smeg from all over Russia and CIS countries.
The guests at the event were treated to an exciting master class by a famous Italian chef in order to get to know the products better and see them at work! The chef cooked pumpkin risotto, shrimps and truffle, and whilst these dishes were being sampled, he was simultaneously baking delicious raspberry and blueberry cupcakes as a dessert in the Smeg ovens.
The Regional Development Director, Daniel Martinez said "Our mission was to create a showroom which demonstrates to customers how Smeg products can create a warm and cozy atmosphere in the kitchen". The company history dates back to 1948, when the late Vittorio Bertazzoni (the grandfather of the current vice-president) founded a small metal enameling factory. Today Smeg appliances are highly regarded around the world for their unique technology and style, and the company is present in 15 countries worldwide.
The opening ceremony was also visited by a famous TV presenter and showman Andrey Malakhov, a good friend of Mr. Bertazzoni. Malakhov admires the stylish design and functionality of the Smeg fridge in the studio of "1st Channel" where he works, and was impressed by the beautiful range of Smeg products in the new Smeg Russia showroom. Each upon year Smeg continues to conquer the hearts of people who appreciate perfect design.
