Iconic Mid-Century Modern-Styled Italian Refrigerators Reimagined for the New Decade

SMEG, the famed family-owned-and-operated Italian luxury appliance producer, has announced a complete redesign and reimagining of their long-beloved “FAB28” product line, with the new version already shipping this month (December, 2019).

Dramatic interior design changes include new, rounded shapes on the inside elements, with chrome finishes and greatly-enhanced storage space, borne from suggestions and comments from 20 years of customer experiences over the previous product generation.  Energy consumption has been further-reduced, earning EnergyStar® certification for the entire line.

New technological enhancements include the “Life Plus” area for longer-term preservation of perishable food, a MultiFlow Cooling System to evenly cool the compartment, and two long LED light strips for superior illumination. While almost-identical from the outside, this enhanced version has an increased capacity through its increased dimensions in height and depth.

These new FAB28s are available in 11 colors: blue, black, cream, lime green, orange, pastel blue, pastel green, pink, red, yellow, and white.  They are also available in three unique flag patterns celebrating America, the UK, and, of course, Italy.
