Smeg consolidates its presence in Mexico

With the purpose of bringing to their clients their extensive, 100% “Made In Italy” product range, SMEG,the renowned Italian domestic appliances company has opened their first showroom in Mexico City.

The event was attended by representatives of the Italian diplomatic corps, big names from the world of design and architecture, influencers, chefs and brand clients, who came to this exhibition space that, with over 300m2 , harmonically combines iconic articles boasting the pop aesthetics of the 50s and modern, minimalist product lines.

This new space, located in the heart of Colonia Roma, will allow its visitors to explore Smeg's products and their most recent innovations, which materialise a reinterpretation of the Italian concept for the whole world. In the same line, the new showroom will be a stage for shows, cookery classes and many other activities that will help disseminate the broad range of possibilities brought about by these products, which combine functionality, technology and design.

The event included the participation of artist Claudio Limón, a Mexican icon in the fields of illustration and design, who captured, through his intervention on one of SMEG’s products, the convergence of the Italian and Mexican cultures.

SMEG’s history is deeply linked to its place of origin. The Emilia Romagna region, birthplace of Italian food and of some of its most emblematic gastronomic products, such as Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and Parma ham. In addition to that, it's the birthplace of the best Italian technology: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Ducati, all have their main factories just a few kilometres away from SMEG’s premises.
