Smeg wins 8 awards at the Good Design Awards 2024

The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, which has been seeking excellence in contemporary design for over 70 years, has awarded the Good Design Awards 2024 to eight Smeg appliances praised for their aesthetics, functionality, iconic identity and innovative impact.

Successful collaborations

Smeg and Stefano Boeri Interiors

Exclusively unveiled during the Salone del Mobile 2024, the collaboration between Smeg and Stefano Boeri Interiors was created to shape new design horizons.

The ISOLA collection (coming soon) comprises refined products including an induction cooktop with integrated rangehood and frame with LED lighting, a 180 cm suspended hood with glass shelf, and a light track that can be used either as a lighting design element or in combination with one of the rangehoods from the same collection. ISOLA, which will be available from 2025, represents an innovative interpretation of how technology and design can merge two worlds in a single product to redefine contemporary kitchen spaces.

Smeg and deepdesign®

Smeg and the deepdesign® studio of Raffaella Mangiarotti and Matteo Bazzicalupo celebrate the 10th anniversary of the small appliance collection, born with the 50's Style aesthetic of soft colours and rounded shapes and grown with the recent Collection line with its contemporary and sophisticated taste.

Semi-professional espresso machine (coming soon)

Among the award-winning products was the EMC02 semi-professional espresso machine. Completely made in Italy, which meets the needs of true coffee enthusiasts by offering a professional design in a format ideal for home use.

The PIC01 portable induction cooker also received the Good Design Award for aesthetics Collezione, awarded for its elegant design and versatility that combines lightness and practicality, making it perfect for use in any situation.

Analogue and digital scale (not available in Australia)

Also receiving a mention was the KSF01 analogue and digital scale of the 50's Style collection, a mix of tradition and innovation that celebrates the retro-inspired aesthetic.

Technology and innovation for connoisseurs

The latest trends in the sector tell of a user who is increasingly passionate, informed and attentive to the impact of his or her choices. It is with this in mind that Smeg transfers the know-how acquired in the Ho.Re.Ca and medical sectors into the domestic kitchen with products that wink at the professional world.

This is the case of the Dolomite refrigerator, previewed at Eurocucina 2024 and available from the end of 2025: a concentrate of technology and style, totally made in Italy, which not only guarantees accurate refrigeration, but can count on technology that preserves the qualities of food for longer.

Finally, the award-winning products also include the blast chiller in the Dolce Stil Novo aesthetic. This product, with a strong professional imprint, is essential for food preservation, preventing bacterial proliferation and preserving taste, texture and nutrients.
