We’re on the lookout for a great trade marketing manager to work alongside our product managers, internal sales and training teams to develop and maintain solid communication with our distributors & retailer partners across the UK & Ireland, alongside helping to influence architects and designers specifying new developments. The trade marketing manager role is a vital position ensuring the successful growth and support of these sales channels.

Responsible for:
- Developing new trade comms initiatives (eshots, brochures, offer sheets etc)
- Overseeing promotional calendar and incentive programmes
- Liaising and networking with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers and partner organisations (phone, email and face to face).
- Maintaining regular communication initiatives.
- Developing new promotions and POS with sales team.
- Overseeing and improving stockist finder content
- Developing retailer brand pages
- Creating, sharing and disseminating new content
- Fielding and briefing trade advertising opportunities.
- Overseeing the production of marketing materials, including brochures, leaflets, boards, gadgets, newsletters, e-newsletters.
- Writing and proofreading copy.
- Liaising with PR with a focus toward trade press releases, events, award submissions and copy calls
- Arranging product loans and exhibition stock
- Arranging the effective distribution of marketing materials, gadgets and stocks.
- Maintaining and updating customer databases online.
- Organising and attending events such as exhibitions, awards evenings, charity fundraisers.
- Evaluating and maintaining specification portals
- Conducting research – customers, market, product etc.
- Contributing to, and developing, marketing plans and strategies.
- Evaluating and measuring marketing campaigns where possible.
- Managing and improving reviews
- Monitoring competitor activity.
- Supporting head of marketing and other colleagues with general marketing initiatives.
- To maintain a professional image conductive to the culture and ethos of Smeg
- To undertake any other reasonable duties within your range of experience and competencies.
Experience required:
- A minimum 3-5 years + experience in a similar marketing role
- Blue chip / consumer electronics/ manufacturing / retail / FMCG sector
Competencies required:
- Strong & proven planning, organisation and time management skills.
- Self-motivated and can work individually as well as within a small team.
- Able to start and finish projects from end to end, taking care of the detail.
- Friendly, approachable and passionate.
Position details:
- Based at Smeg UK's head office in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.
- Full-time permanent position (37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday).
