Which oven is right for me?

What should i look for in an oven?

Built-in ovens come into their own when it comes to being flexible. Not only are there a variety of space saving installation and layout options to choose from such as in-column, in-line and built-under, there are also a number of complementary appliances that can sit seamlessly alongside the core oven, hob and extractor hood combination. 

Choosing the right oven is crucial and at the centre of any buying decision, so we have put together a useful guide designed to help you select the best model to suit your needs as well as your kitchen.

Our single ovens operate from a 13 amp plug for hasselfree installation.

Internal capacity

The majority of Smeg single ovens offer a large 70 litre net capacity with 5 different cooking levels. Other single ovens offer a  smaller 65 litres accounting for in-built pizza stones. Both ovens provide plenty of space, however If you need an even larger oven, 90cm extra wide or double ovens models are available.

Oven functions

Smeg multifunction ovens offer great flexibility, ranging from grill functions for large meat cuts to slow baked cakes & casseroles using a static function. The most popular function is all-round Circulaire, perfect for multi layer cooking and baking. There are also more specific functions such as bread proving available.

Cleaning options

Smeg ovens come with an easy clean enamel interior, a special antacid lining which helps to reduce dirt adhering to the surface. Some models also have a vapour clean function which steams the cavity. Many models also offer pyrolytic clean functions, burning dirt to ash which can be wiped away.

EXTRAS

In order to get the most out of your oven, its worth considering an oven with additional features such as a temperature probe for cooking meat perfectly, steam for healthy results,  and smegconnect for mobile access.

The SOP6902S2PP combi steam oven is a good place to start offering a number of useful settings and cook programmes via an intuitive LCD display. The oven benefits from soft opening and close hinges and is quick to install with its 3.00kW nominal power.

Linea: Contemporary Sophistication

If you’re looking for a built-in oven that's contemporary in style, the distinctive Linea range is worth a detailed look. Symmetrical lines, balance and light characterise the glass fronted range, available in two premium finishes. Why not check out the SFP6104WTPN model in black glass. A colour touch control LCD screen allows the oven to be programmed with ease and budding cooks can set the oven using one of our smart sense preset functions, add favourite personal recipes or even delay cooking until home from the office.

For easy access to the oven cavity, Smeg ovens can be fitted with sliding telescopic rails, enabling the user to glide out the tray to check cooking progress.

Classic: Refined Industrial

Timeless design details give the Classic range its name, however it’s the striking combination of industrial stainless steel & black eclipse glass which is the real head turner. The range looks at home in both modern traditional kitchen settings making it an incredibly versatile.

Space willing, the large 90cm SF9390X1 offers huge gross 123 litre capacity and 5 cooking levels.  Alternatively, another large capacity option is the class leading DOSP6390X double oven thanks to its pyrolytic self-cleaning main oven.

If you’re limited on space, a bank of reduced height appliances may be for you - including the SF4390VCX1 45cm steam oven, perfect for cooking fresh fish, meat or vegetables.

If you often cook for a group or have a large family, the DOSF400S double oven is a great option. Thanks to its five cooking levels, you can cook numerous meals at once. Grill in one cavity, whilst roasing a chicken in the other both with superb results!
