Lentil burger with grilled vegetables

Hearty and full of flavour, these lentil burgers combine sweet carrots, savoury sun-dried tomatoes and wholemeal breadcrumbs for a rich, satisfying bite. Prepared with the Sametime function for even cooking, they are a wholesome option with vibrant colours and a soft, rustic texture.

Ingredients

260 g Red lentils
100 g Carrots
50–70 g Fresh breadcrumbs
60 g Onions
2 Sun-dried tomatoes
Water, to taste

Proceedings

Finely chop carrots and onions to create an aromatic base. Then heat a little oil in a pan and add the vegetables with the red lentils, allowing them to take on flavour. Afterwards, add water and leave to cook until soft.

Transfer the mixture into a bowl and mix with wholemeal bacon and sun-dried tomatoes until smooth. Then use a pastry cutter to form the burgers.

Place in the oven and choose the Sametime cooking option, start the function following the Smeg oven's instructions regarding time and temperature for even and optimal cooking.

Plate carefully, enhancing the contrasts in colour and texture.
